The event is dedicated to all playful people from all over the world, young and old, experts as well as amateurs. Everyone can play and learn something new. You can learn and play more than 321 board games in our Ludotheque (daily 9-22, weekdays for free, weekends CZK 50 a day), under the lead of experienced tutors.
Do not miss World Championship in Gipf Project, consisting of six tournaments in Kris Burm's games. Kris will be personally present! The Gipf Project contains very interesting two-player games with simple rules that you can learn during the festival, e.g. in our Ludotheque. There are really nice prizes for winners of these tournaments. See details here.
You will realize how to amuse yourself intelligently. Moreover, the board games break barriers. No matter who you are, what is your age, belief, race or physical disability, the only what matters is the power of your brain.
The new feature of this year is OPTIONAL TOURNAMENTS:
For a couple of events you can influence, which game will be played. During registration, mark the game(s) you prefer. According to the numbers of registered players and their preferences, we will decide on 11 September 2008, what game will occupy the given room and time slot. The on-line registration of players will be open until 20 September, so even if you will not have voted, you will be able to register for the tournament in time, knowing what game has been selected.

The Olympiad is organized by the non-profit association Duha, part Děsír - Board Games Club Paluba, in cooperation with the Czech Go Association, Czech Federation of Draughts, Czech Scrabble Association, Czech Federation of Othello, and a few volunteers.
